Olavsfestdagene 2012

It has been some time again, not a lot has happened. Of course, I had some experiences and now I want to share with you the last one.

I have, as some of you know, worked as a volunteer in the Open Church-project in Trondheim, but this summer I took it a step forward. I signed up for volunteer work at the St. Olav festival in Trondheim, and ended up with the Beer and wine - crew - which is bar/serving.

I had a wonderful week, tiresome, but with lots of laughter, a lot of good music (you know I love music) and I had a lot of great experiences. I even got the change to go to a couple of events on the 2 nights I had time off. And I have to mention all the nice people I met. We had a blast!! :-)

Du kan lese om Olavsfestdagene her..
You can read about the St. Olav festival here....(english)

The week started with the consertversion on the musical Hair, not that many guests, but the show was great. Then it happend as pearls on a string: Anne Grete Preus, Patti Smith, Them Beatles, Halfdan Sivertsen/Jan Eggum with Bertine and Vinni, Emmelou Harris, Ane Brun and finally the great finale with Dum Dum Boys. AND this was just a few of the 200 events happening all over the city this week.

I have danced, rocked, sung and served beer and wine throughout the week, and had a great time.

I have booked vacation next year already :) I wanna do this again!!

Updates

To my regular readers- I am so sorry. I haven't been writing anything for the last few months, my life has been busy with personal and family matter, no concerts no travelling...but still. I can tell something.

Here's an update on the the past months:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Books: I have been reading a lot, and among other things - rock biographies:

Ketih Richards - Life
Great honest book, the one that triggered my interest to keep reading. Do not read this book if you are a fan of Mick Jagger ;-) Recommended

Slash - Slash

After reading this book I felt quite differently about the rebell. Still a rebell, still a lot of stupid things, but deep in he's a nice guy. Recommended

Nikky Sixx - The heroin diary
wow - really painful reading. I felt so bad for the bloke. Read this if you ever think about trying heroin - beforeyou try. Recommended

Tommy Lee - Tommyland
A sensitive guy with a little too much of himself. Not the best choice. Read it for entertainment, not for an insight.

Åge Aleksandersen - Åge (Norwegian rocker)
Good, open honest book, not telling all the details, like the one's above is, but still enought to get an insight of his live as a norwegian rockstar. Recommended.

Books in line for reading:

Toni Lommi - Iron man
Mötley Crue - The Dirt

Then we'll see where I go after that :-) If any of you knows of books that I definately should read, please let me know.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Concerts:

I wish I had news for you there. I would have loved to be in Stockholm in March for Joe Bonamassa, and Sweden Rock in June would have been great, but I this moment I do not know where I will end up.

Looking for new bands in my Genre "Classic Rock". That is bands that plays that 70's and 80's rock, even though I think some new bands are good as well. Please let me know if there are bands that you think would fit my taste :)

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Travel:

Since Alice Cooper in London I have only been travelling once, and that was for Stockholm, and for business. In other words - I have been home for a long time, longer than for years actually. And what do I think of that? I think it is great. I wouldn't mind travelling some, but not as much as last year.

So plans that I know of now - I will have a weekend with the girls from work in Tallin/Estonia soon, and I will go to Italy/Milan again in March for a 3 day trip(work), and that is really all that is scheduled right now. I will most likely have a weekend with Bjørn somewhere during the spring, but I will get back to travelling when more details are clear.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Movies:

I have also been to a lot of Movies this year, some Norwegian films, some international best-sellers and some underdogs. Thats one of the perks by staying home :)

Some of the movies I have seen is My Week With Marily, Sherlock Holmes, Girl Wirh The Dragon Tattoo, Varg Veum's latest and Chronicle. I really do think movies are best at the Cinema. I will try to keep it up.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

I promise that I will try to update with shorter intervals from now on.

Rock on readers :) \m/
